AlternC Debian Official Repository

This is AlternC's official Debian package repository.

• Since 2025 april we provide stable releases to debian from Buster (Debian 10) distribution.
• Support is only provided to Bookworm and AlternC >= 3.5

/!\ IMPORTANT /!\ since 2023 we don't support anymore distribution aliases such as 'stable', 'old(old...)stable'. You must use the full distribution name as defined at https://www.debian.org/releases/

Add stable repository

To enable this repository:

sudo wget https://debian.alternc.org/key.txt -O /usr/share/keyrings/alternc.asc
echo "deb [signed-by=/usr/share/keyrings/alternc.asc] https://debian.alternc.org/ $(lsb_release -cs) main" \
	| sudo tee -a /etc/apt/sources.list.d/alternc.list 
		

Bullseye and Bookworm

To install :

apt update
apt install alternc
alternc.install
		

Bullseye is not supported, package are provided to permit update from Buster. Only bookworm is actively tested.

Buster

To install AlternC base, backports is required to be compliant with phpmyadmin requirements.

apt update
apt install alternc -t buster-backports
alternc.install
		

Nightly or experimental

Stable release are available only on stable repository, then to get any last package your need current distribution and experimental distribution configured.

Before Buster

You can found some package but they are no more supported.
You must ugprade to more recent debian release
